Indonesia's most wanted militant, Abu Wardah Santoso, was killed in a
gun battle with security forces on Monday in Poso, Central Sulawesi,
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut
Panjaitan said.
Santoso, who headed the East Indonesia Mujahideen militant group that in
2014 claimed allegiance to the Islamic State group, had escaped being
captured for more than five years.
The militant was killed alongside another extremist.
