Iwobi, Iheanacho sink Zambia

Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho got Nigeria off the mark in the 2018 world cup qualification race after strikes in the first half were enough to see off a tough Zambian side in what was an end-to-end encounter. Iwobi volleyed into the back of the net in the 32nd minute while Iheanacho doubled the advantage in the 42nd minute.

Although Collins Mbesuma of the Chipolopolo reduced the tally to one in the 71st minute, the Super Eagles held their own to earn three maximum points and start their world cup qualification campaign on a high note. The other teams in the group are Algeria and Cameroon.

Cameroon football star and former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o has been dropped by his club, Antalyaspor, after he claimed on social media that people didn't respect him because of his skin colour. According to AFP, the Turkish top flight said that Eto’o would be left out of the squad until further notice in a bitter row over comments on social media.

Paul Pogba is suspended for Manchester United's Premier League opener at Bournemouth this weekend.
The Frenchman completed his £90million switch to Old Trafford earlier this week but will be unavailable for the first game of the campaign.
Pogba was listed on the FA's website as one of the players 'currently under suspension' ahead of the first weekend of the new season.

Manchester City’s huge offer to buy Leroy Sane left Bundesliga side Schalke 04 with no choice but to sell their rising Germany star, according to his now ex-club.
Sane, 20, moved for a reported £37 million ($48m, 43m euros) and signed a five-year deal with Pep Guardiola’s side, who kick off the new Premier League season on Saturday against Sunderland.

Paul Pogba passes medical before Manchester United move



Paul Pogba has passed his medical at Manchester United before his €110m (£93.2m) move from Juventus to the Premier League club.
The 23-year-old flew to Manchester on Monday to be assessed by United’s medical staff in order to clear the final hurdle of the summer’s most high-profile and protracted transfer.
United are expected to formally announce the transfer on Tuesday with the Frenchman becoming the club’s fourth and final summer signing.
