Like any good pal, Selena Gomez
leapt to the defence of Taylor Swift after Kim Kardashian shared the
video of the singer and Kanye West’s conversation about the rapper's
highly controversial track Famous.
Selena took to Twitter amid
the internet frenzy that followed to say there were plenty more pressing
matters people should be focusing on.
"There are more important
things to talk about... Why can't people use their voice for something
that f**king matters?” she wrote.
"Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form. This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh.”
But rather than be met with a barrage of support and praise, she was soon called out for being a hypocrite.
“You literally have not used your voice, or lack thereof, to speak on
any of the tragedies in the world within the past 4 months," one fumed
in response.
“Kim Kardashian even spoke about #BlackLivesMatter.
Selena Gomez hasn't mentioned about the Latino lives that have been
murdered by Police (sic),” shared a second.
"Good question! Why haven't you or Taylor not said a thing about#BlackLivesMatter or police brutality?” wrote another.
Selena
then replied in a now deleted tweet: "oh lol so that means if I hashtag
something I save lives? No - I could give two f**ks about 'sides'. You
don't know what I do."
And: “You literally have no room to talk
when you have a huge platform and all you do is post pictures and take
fake sips of Coke @selenagomez."
The 19-year-old actress wrote: "Everyone in this industry needs to
get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY
happening in the REAL world.
"Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant.(sic)"
In
response, Khloe tweeted a picture of Chloe in a red bikini top and
another of a blonde girl getting a piggyback ride with her bikini
bottoms accidentally pulled to the side and wrote: "Is this the a hole
you're referring to @ChloeGMoretz???"
