Nigeria have started their World Cup qualifying campaign on the front foot, with an impressive 2-1 away victory against Zambia.
While Victor Moses missed the game, Mikel Obi and another Chelsea player, Kenneth Omeruo on loan to Alanyaspor in Turkey were in action for the entire duration in the 2-1 victory.

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi put Nigeria ahead with a good finish, and Mikel was involved in the second goal which involved some good touches from Mikel, Brown Ideye and Manchester City youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho; the move led to a goal scored by Iheanacho, and it was a beauty.
Zambia came out stronger in the second half and started to press the Super Eagles. Mikel almost put Nigeria 3 goals up, but some smart goalkeeping from the goalkeeper to tip the ball away for a corner.
Zambia’s pressure eventually paid off and they got a goal midway through the second period, after some sloppy defending from Omeruo.
