GUARDIAN UK reports that the King Adulyadej's death throws politically
turbulent Thailand into uncertainty. His son and heir apparent, the
63-year old Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, is expected to become
Thailand's new king.
The cause of the King's death was not stated in a statement released by the Palace. King Bhumibol Adulyadej was 88 at the time of his death and had ruled over Thailand for 70years.
